On Saturday, August 17, 154 volunteers took to the river in
boats of all kinds as part of the first Tire-Less
James event and together they removed 479 tires from a 59-mile stretch of the
James River between Lynchburg and Richmond.
A big thank you also goes to Bridgestone Americas LLC’s "One
Team One Planet" Spent Tire Program,
for providing free hauling and recycling of all the tires that were collected.
